Watch Emma Russack & Lachlan Denton Perform in A Plant Shop

The prolific Melbourne-based songwriters meld together "The Heatwave (Eloise)" and "I'll Be The Rock" in their gorgeously low-key new video.

If you ever feel like you're not productive enough, remember this: It's September 2018, and Emma Russack & Lachlan Denton have already released two collaborative albums this year alone. So, you're definitely not productive enough. April's When It Ends and July's Keep On Trying were records that broadened and deepened the two Melbourne-based artists' respective oeuvres while pinpointing the strengths of each artist: Lachlan's bulletproof hooks; Emma's laconic, acerbic lyrics; and their shared penchant for creating spare, sunburnt Australian rock.

Later this year, the pair will release The First Two Albums, a Spunk Records reissue of, yes, their first two albums, and to announce the news they've released a video for "The Heatwave (Eloise)" and "I'll Be The Rock", the standout final tracks from Keep On Trying. The new clip is something special, featuring the Emma & Lachlan and band (Liam Halliwell on bass, Dylan Young on drums) performing the tracks in a native plant nursery.

“Working with Emma has been the most rejuvenating experience for me. In many ways our background and personalities are very similar," Lachlan tells Noisey. ""Eloise" and "I'll Be The Rock", though musically quite different, share a similar attitude and outlook towards our lives at this point in time. I think we both want to take stock of what we have and appreciate the people around us and the life we have.” Watch the video for "The Heatwave (Eloise)" and "I'll Be The Rock" below.
