OG Maco Finally Releases Full-Length Album ‘Children of the Rage’

Recorded between 2014 and 2015, the long-awaited album features BJ the Chicago Kid, Ash Riser, and Doja Cat.

When we interviewed Atlanta rapper OG Maco in 2015, his phone was blowing up. He was riding a tidal wave set off by his addictive viral hit "U Guessed It," figuring out his next move. He was coming to terms with immediate fame. That year, he was included in XXL's Freshman Class. Things were good. Scary good. The 24-year-old hasn't been in the spotlight as much since then. A horrific car crash last year left him with multiple severe injuries and had him fearing that he might lose an eye. But he's been releasing some exciting music in that time, figuring out his sound and testing out different styles as he went. Last year's #BLVKPHILCOLLINS EP and January's The Lord of Rage tape, both Quality Control releases, started to push him towards 808s & Heartbreak territory, building auto-tuned trap into his thrilling, industrial delivery.

This morning, he finally released his first album, Children of the Rage. Recorded between 2014 and 2015, it features BJ the Chicago Kid, Ash Rise, and Doja Cat, and it provides a fascinating insight into where he was at the time, and where he might go from here. It's all up on Soundcloud to stream for free, as he explained in a note with the release:

After three years of waiting, I figure [it's] time to give the fans what they want selflessly. I crafted this album from 2014-2015 as an outlet and I hope it does the same for you. Thank you to all my supporters and believers and especially my critics.

Live free and Rage,

The Lord Of Rage

P.S. This is actually the album [it's] just on soundcloud because my label would remove it from anything else.
