The World Absolutely Needs a Mis-Teeq Reunion, Don't @ Me

Go on Alesha Dixon, take back your rightful place as the UK's best MC.

Before she was the reigning champion of Strictly Come Dancing Season Five, or Simon Cowell's right-hand woman on Britain's Got Talent, Alesha Dixon was: a) one-third of one of the best UK girl groups in history Mis-Teeq, and; b) easily one of the best MCs to ever live on these fair British shores. If you don't believe me please take note:

Told you.

Excellent news, then: on Friday, Alesha hinted at a future for the group during an interview on Lorraine (for those of you not familiar with daytime TV – although you are reading Noisey dot vice dot come so I doubt there are many – it's a woman-targeted chat show hosted by Scottish presenter Lorraine Kelly that stay-at-home aunties watch while they do the ironing). Mis-Teeq, in their 2000s heyday, were a gold-loving garage girl group made up of vocalists Alesha Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash (after founding member Zena McNally left in 2001). When asked whether there were any plans for a Mis-Teeq reunion, Alesha said "I don't know what we're waiting for really, to be honest. We're talking, we love each other – we'd love it to happen one day."

However, she did note that as she's currently "in the studio" working on "solo material," going on to say that "it's just finding that time to do it." To this I would say: Alesha babes, love you, but please just give us what we want. As erm, cute, as "The Boy Does Nothing" was, what I need from you most of all are your club-style bars, barked with a force that could kill a man, against a Mis-Teeq garage rager with a sweet, sweet Sabrina and Su-Elise hook. Do it for me, Alesha. The world is primed and ready for this.
