Harrison Ford, Happy-Sounding Dad, Loves Action Bronson's TV Show

“Do you ever watch VICE? VICE television?”

The last time I tried recommending a TV show to a really sweet family friend in her sixties who doesn't have Netflix, I realised later that my suggestions of Search Party, Insecure or Atlanta might not have been quite the "vibe". Watching a bunch of people in their twenties or early thirties try to get their shit together doesn't really have the universal appeal that I'd – maybe naively – thought. Watching her face as I explained each show's plot over lunch made it clear that she probably wasn't going to rush home to google "search party can you get it on DVD".

But sometimes those cross-generational recommendations can work a treat. In a recent GQ interview, for instance, Harrison Ford spoke about being put onto Action Bronson's food show on VICELAND, in which Bronson basically yells directly at the warm and salty exterior of many dishes from around the world before/while eating said dishes. Harrison Ford likes Bronson – well, he likes the show, at least.

"Do you ever watch VICE? VICE television?" – technically it's VICELAND my guy, but we'll let this one slide because you are no doubt a very busy person and were also born in the 1940s. "Well, they've got a show called Fuck, That's Delicious." At this point, it is important to just revel in the thought of 75-year-old dad Harrison Ford, once-upon-a-time Han Solo Harrison Ford, looking a journalist dead in the eyes and saying "fuck, that's delicious" with absolute enthusiasm. "Well," he continued, "I met one of the correspondents at my son Malcolm's apartment. He was sleeping on the couch. Very, very smart guy. And so I started watching it, and it's really, really interesting. Some of it." Ouch. "Just, you know, a distracting and interesting glimpse into somebody else's world."

Shouts to this direct marketing from a correspondent who ended up on Malcolm Ford's sofa. Harrison if you're reading this, thanks for being you – we'd also like to recommend Tyler, the Creator's show NUTS + BOLTS.
