T-Pain Has Brought T-Wayne Back to Life

Eight songs from the Lil Wayne x T-Pain album that never was are here for our happiness.

"I'm feelin reeeeeaaaaalll spontaneous right now," is what T-Pain wrote on his Instagram yesterday under a photo of what looked to be a mock cover of a T-Wayne album—the duo of he and Lil Wayne. Almost a decade ago, the two were at their respective apexes and promised a collaborative album after dropping songs like "Got Money" and"Can't Believe It." For whatever reason, the project never materialized. But on Twitter last night, Pain revealed that he felt motivated to dig through his hard drive to resurrect unreleased songs he and Wayne have together for the album that never happened.

For his "A Year of Lil Wayne" column, Noisey's own Kyle Kramer's recently paid tribute to T-Wayne, auto tune, and the potential supergroup they never became. Now, thankfully for us, those teasers and the potential supergroup are a reality. Pain, as promised, dug into his archives to give the world a project consisting of eight previously-unheard tracks with Wayne. Listen to T-Wayne below and get ready for a magically nostalgic weekend.
