New year, new you! Chicago's The Walters are here to help you succeed, thanks to their new track "She's Gonna Leave You" and its accompanying Kristina Pedersen-directed music video.

The fellas got under our skin with the sweet, surreal pop of 2014's Songs for Dads and a slate of subsequent standalone releases that cemented them as one of Chicago's best rising bands. Now they've teamed up with producer Phil Ek (The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse) in Seattle to record a new tune, and the result is all swoony hooks and lilting melodies that can't help but stick in your brain. The song is a taste of what's to come from an independent full-length they'll be dropping later this year.

Its equally sweet and surreal video is a lo-fi pastel feast, a reminder that there's no heartache that team aerobics and a good crew neck can't fix.

"The idea behind the video was to make a work out video that helps you reach peak human perfection, which ultimately means turning into a cardboard plant," Pedersen says.
