Superhuman Happiness' New Song "Super 8" Will Improve Your Life

Every indie-pop song should end in a psychedelic-sax wig out.

This song right here is kind of blowing my mind. It starts off as breezy indie-pop, which does indeed rachet up the listener's superhuman happiness quotient—I mean, the girl-boy vocal interplay is actual sunshine—and then at the three minute mark "Super 8" jets away to another dimension. It turns into a psychedelic squiggly sax wig out which then loops back around again to pure pop. It. Is. Rad.

Superhuman Happiness are quite a sprawling collective, but it's headed up by Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist Stuart Bogie, who's worked extensively with Antibalas, Dave Sitek and played on records for everyone from Arcade Fire to Yeah Yeah Yeahs to David Byrne. Thus far they've released one EP and 2013's album Hands. "Super 8" is a tidy taster from their forthcoming longplayer out this summer. Press play, lift off.
