Burning down the house.

Burning down your house and fleeing into in the woods in an attempt to escape societal pressures is not among one of the typical motifs of an R&B song, but Brooklyn's Doe Paoro is no typical R&B singer. In her new Thoreau-esq video for "New Lows," she covers a lot of heavy symbolism that furthers her attempt to put a new branding on the rhythm and blues genre.

Doe Paoro is playing a show at The Standard in NYC on June 19, and you can buy her New Lows/See Me Now seven-inch via White Iris right here.
