Springtime Carnivore's debut album is perfectly twee.
There's a certain misconception about the word "twee," and most often the word is viewed in a negative light. When you think of things that are defined as "twee," it's as if your brain is overdosing on a lot of images of Zooey Deschanel, polaroid pictures, Pinterest boards of lace cooking aprons, or some type of arts and crafts project with the involvement of a small bird. Not all things twee are bad. Some of these things need to be embraced with open arms to make you feel happy, warm, and fuzzy inside… and one of these things just so happens to be Greta Morgan AKA Springtime Carnivore.
Produced by the talented Richard Swift (and Greta Morgan herself), Springtime Carnivore's debut album is meant to be blasted on a hazy weekend afternoon when the sun is beaming through your window creating those little dust specks in your apartment while you dance around in your underwear making eggs (spatula in hand). It's an album you can listen to year-round, despite the upbeat summertime drum kicks and whistles that are weaved throughout all fourteen tracks. Morgan's vocals are warm and familiar- perfect for the type of fuzzy pop that Springtime Carnivore creates. Stream the album in its entirety below ahead of its November 4th release date via Autumn Tone Records.
