This morning, as the sun blinked through the trees and the birds began to tweet, it truly felt as if a new season was upon us. And no, I’m not talking about the first signs of spring. I’m talking about the dawn of NYC icon Lil’ Kim, who declared it Lil Kim Season when she dropped her new mixtape out of the sky and into our headphones.

The ten track release, which is her first since 2014’s Hard Core, includes a new track with Kevin Gates, as well as freestyles over Drake’s “Summer’s Sixteen,” Desiigner’s “Panda,” and a really weird version of Rihanna’s “Work” where she sings: “What you have for lunch today baby? Would you like desert? I’ve got my school girl skirt on, I’m about to kick your brain like a nerd.
