Watch Fórn Enact the Lightless Doom of "Suffering in the Eternal Void" in a Cave

The Boston/NYC/Oakland doom outfit has outdone itself in this stark black and white live video.

As I've mentioned previously and in the parlance of the Noisey office, funereal sludge quintet Fórn is dope. We streamed their most recent album, The Departure of Consciousness, earlier this year, and now they've seen fit to grace us with another gem—a visceral new video for the track "Suffering in the Eternal Void."

The stark black and white video itself captures the sheer tectonic force that is a live Fórn performance. You can feel the riffs in your bones, smell the sweat, and feel your eardrums vibrating. It was filmed in a cave by the sea, during the kind of show that doesn't seem quite legal but definitely feels worth it.

As bassist Brian explained, "The video was filmed by our good friend Brian Pelletier, under the biggest supermoon of 2014 deep within the magickal Sutro Baths cave in San Francisco on August 10. It was, as far as we know, the first ever metal show within the cave. The tides were harrowing, while waves were crashing intensely around both entrances. The moon was pulling the ocean deep under the cave. It was a truly mystical evening and the perfect atmosphere for our first show in the Bay Area."

The Departure of Consciousness is out now on vinyl by Vendetta Records and on limited CD by Gilead Media. Lose yourself in the void:

They may not have any more cave shows planned (for now), but you should definitely try to catch them at one of their upcoming live dates:
