Portland's Aminé Gives You "Emotional Relief" In His New Video

"Emotional Relief" is one of the first short films that Aminé will release from his Odyssey To Me project, which he dropped in January.

The night after Noisey's Managing Editor Eric Sundermann and I went to see the final Yeezus tour stop in the U.S., I woke up to an email from Adam "Aminé" Daniel, a 19-year-old artist from Portland who I had never listened to. Immediately, his video for "Emotional Relief' had me feeling a lot of feelings, and of course, reminded me of the original "Lost In The World" Bon Iver track called "Woods." Aminé's use of a talkbox if anything, will give you even more goosebumps but its the visuals, directed by Tim Slusarczyk, that simply add more of a familiar sadness to his ballad about past loves.

"Emotional Relief" is one of the first short films that Aminé will release from his Odyssey To Me project, which he dropped in January and plans to re-release later this month with two new bonus songs. The project finds Aminé pulling inspiration from R&B starts like D'Angelo and flows that are reminiscient of a younger J. Cole, at times. The 17-track project is truly a stunning look into Aminé's life, and while "Emotional Relief" is definitely standout track, he dabbles in a number of different genres throughout the tape. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up next but for now, watch "Emotional Relief" above.
