Phlo Finister - Poster Girl EP

Reminds us of good pills and a bottle of white diamonds.

Los Angeles-based R&B singer Phlo Finister has finally released her debut LP Poster Girl, and we've got the exclusive stream. Since emerging a few years back with her Mobb Deep-sampling take on Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang” and her own song “Shades,” Finister has made a name for herself in both the music and fashion world by developing herself as a continuation of iconic mod women before her. Immersed in the complicated femininity of mod fashion and 1960’s women, Finister plays with the intersection of her personas in her new LP.

“I wanted to be the face of my music,” Finister said. “I wanted to paint a picture, but not just any picture, a self portrait. Poster Girl is a reflection of Phlo Finister. I had to look at myself as an artist. I had to leave my physical shell. The closest way to describe Poster Girl is my outer body experience I had while painting myself.”

Poster Girl is a dazed, smokey R&B record. Reminds us of really good pills and a bottle of White Diamonds.
