The Backdrop Explores The Melting Pot That Is The Miami Hip-Hop Scene

For this edition of The Backdrop, we took a trip down to Art Basel in Miami to talk to a wealth of members of Miami's hip-hop scene, from Denzel Curry and Lofty305, respectively of the buzzing rap crews Raider Klan and Metro Zu, as well as Afrobeta, TM Sisters and O'Grime. Built upon the thundering bass of 2 Live Crew, Miami's hip-hop scene sees firsthand the intersections of hip-hop and electronic music throughout the two genres' history. In conjunction with Gentleman Jack's Art, Beats & Lyrics event series, we took a look at this crucial moment in the city's musical history.
