PREMIERE: Watch Gal Pals Trash a Karaoke Bar in the Video for "Ex-Marionette"

Girls just wanna rock out.

Rude crowds and greedy club owners are standard fare for up-and-coming acts like Gal Pals. In their new video for “Ex-Marionette” the duo seems calm, cool and collected as they shimmy and two-step for a bunch of half-wits, much like the backup babes in Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love” video. However, the band’s restraint is short lived. By the time the chorus kicks in, they make their ungrateful audience listen whether they like it or not. A bare bones guitar-and-drums two piece, Gal Pals shine on their debut LP Velvet Rut with a bright and summery mix of pop influenced lo-fi rock. Hailing from Los Angeles by way of Austin, Texas, bandmates Lauren Marie Mikus and Jillian Talley swirl together carefree vibes and no nonsense rock n’ roll instincts to make the kind of infectious music made for road trips and rooftop parties. Not to mention they have some killer style. Watch the cheeky video below.
