I like it when music has the power to change your mood. Like this morning I was feeling kinda meh. Too many mixed drinks and so forth. Then I put on Streets of Laredo's new tune "Laredo" and I thought, "You know what, life is pretty dope and a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel would really make this morning better. And that's very doable." So I did that and I listened to this song again.Last time we caught up with the Auckland-founded, Brooklyn-based group they told us all about their Firsties and Faves, revealing a wry sense of humor, a winning way with romance, and an interest in rogue plastic surgery. Now they're back with this effervescent folk-pop doozy lifted from their forthcoming album Volume I & II, out via Dine Alone Records on 10.7. (Which weirdly makes me think of Ryan Adams circa many years ago, if he was into harmonies and flowers and joy). For more of a taste of their record you can see a trailer for it here.
