After that Kurupt FM session the other week where he went in hard—laying bars from "Fill Me In" over Justin Bieber and Jack Ü's "Where Are Ü Now"—the world, fifteen years after his first number one, is finally ready to accept Craig David on his own terms. And if there was any shred of doubt left about Craig's revival, then what we're about to present you with should squash it entirely, because only when you're at the height of public consciousness does somebody with the relevant software, creative ingenuity, and a lot of time on their hands, take your seminal UK garage crossover hit and mash it up with a metalcore song.That is precisely what we have on our hands here, with CraigSwitch Engage—"Fill My Heart In", which blends Craig David's "Fill Me In" with everybody's favourite MySpace profile song, Killswitch Engage's "The End of Heartache". Why? Show me someone who does not want to hear Craig David croon sensually over a blastbeat and I will show you a fucking liar.The whole point of a mash up is to make you go, "Oh, I did not notice before but how strange it is that these two completely opposing musical compositions share some similarities," but in this case it's actually true. Let's look at the evidence:- Both are hard as fuck—Craig physically, Killswitch musically—a coincidence represented in the artwork, which features a topless Craig in white boxers photoshopped onto a bed of nails, thus acting as a visual metaphor for their common ground.- "Saying why were you creeping around late last night? / Why did I see two shadows moving in your bedroom light? / Now you're dressed in black / When I left you were dressed in white / Can you fill me in?" I mean, are these Craig David lyrics or Killswitch Engage lyrics? I, for one, can't tell the difference.- That's about it.Listen below:
