Donald Glover Fans Swarmed a Donald Trump Subreddit to Reclaim "The Donald"

Make America Gambino Again.

Dan Ozzi

Until recently, r/thedonald was a subreddit where Reddit users congregated to share links and thoughts about Dear Leader. Or, as its description puts it: “The place where we discuss in an unbiased manner Donald Trumps great contributions to modern society.”

But over the last week, Donald Glover fans have swarmed the page, posting photos and memes of Glover in an effort to reclaim the Donald name. And it’s working. The page is now almost entirely devoted to all things Glover and Childish Gambino.

This post, labeled “The One True Donald,” has been upvoted 45k times.

This post makes some remarkably accurate points when comparing the two Donalds that reaaally make you [thinking guy emoji]:

And this post has a message we can get behind:

However. r/thedonald is not as popular as the yuuge r/the_donald fanpage, “a never-ending rally dedicated to the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.” It boasts 609k “patriots” and its header image features Trump hugging the flag like a goddamn dril tweet come to life. That subreddit is still full of xenophobic, transphobic posts by people who think Trump is some sort of superhero even though he looks like the criminal villain in every movie ever made.

You might see where we’re headed with this. Maybe, if enough Donald Glover fans start posting on r/the_donald, they can reclaim this subreddit, too. We’re just saying. If any Donald Glover fans would like to see title of "The Donald" be claimed by someone other than Trump, this link right here would be a good place to make that known. Godspeed, all you Lil Gambino Redditors. Noisey believes in you.

h/t to @_cooper for the very good Reddit find.
