Los Angeles-based band The Molochs video for “You & Me” is a Marilyn Monroe-inspired ode to young love. A campy, 21st century take on the 1953 film noir Niagara, the heroine tumbles to her death while visiting the falls. Although the video seems almost too spot on at times, the hazy Super 8 footage evokes a kind of hair-raising nostalgia and perfectly complements the 60s jangle-pop vibes. Laura Lynn Petrick, who’s worked for artists like Mac Demarco and Juan Wauters, directed the video.
“You And Me” is the band’s second single, following “No More Cryin’” and both tracks will be included on America’s Velvet Glory, out via Innovative Leisure on January 13. Watch their video premiering below and see upcoming tour dates:
