Meet Jeff Winterberg. You might not know Jeff personally or by name, but you've definitely been touched by his work; he's a well-known music photographer whose seminal snaps of artists like Fugazi, The Melvins, and Hot Snakes have made him an integral documentarian of New York's hardcore scene for many years.Last year, Jeff was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called medulloblastoma, which only affects two percent of adults. He's started extensive treatment, which has limited his functioning, and although his health insurance saves some costs, financial obligations go well beyond what his insurance can cover. In an effort to alleviate some of Jeff’s treatment costs, Jeff’s girlfriend and friends have created Picture Jeff Cancer-Free, a campaign to collect donations for Winterberg's medical bills.In addition to that warm fuzzy feeling you get from helping someone in need, all donations to Jeff's recovery fund above $50 will score benefactors one of his iconic prints.
