This Simpsons-Gorillaz Mashup Is Better Than Mouthwatering Steamed Hams

NPCarlsson’s “Feel Good Inc.” remix of Principal Skinner and Superintendent Chalmers’ iconic “Steamed Hams” is an unforgettable luncheon.

At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, “Steamed Hams” fever is sweeping the nation. Principal Skinner’s profoundly flawed (yet successful) attempt to fool Superintendent Chalmers into thinking some Krusty Burgers were an old family recipe was but one of “22 Short Films About Springfield” on The Simpsons in 1996. Since then, much like Springfield’s Blinky the Three-Eyed Fish, “Steamed Hams” has transformed into a delightfully devilish monster of a meme in the radiated cesspool that is the internet.

‘Steamed Hams’ has thrived online for the better part of decade, but as Polygon details in an extremely serious investigation, a boost from Reddit and a new wave of remixes has given sweet Seymour Skinner's baadasssss cuisine new life. It led Bill Oakley, the writer of ‘Steamed Hams,’ to unveil his entire draft script of the scene on Twitter earlier this year. Of all the “Steamed Hams” remixes—from “Steamed Hams” as Smash Mouth’s “All Star” to Pink Floyd’s The Wall—Youtuber NPCarlsson’s “Steamed Hams Inc.” is the ultimate mouthwatering delight.

The Simpsons-Gorillaz mashup is as magnificent to behold as an aurora borealis localized entirely within your kitchen, an acid reflux of swirling, auto-tuned Chalmerses and Skinners and the searing flames of an unforgettable luncheon. De La Soul’s laughter and Skinner’s “Oh-ho-ho-ho-no!” go hand in hand, two classics made even greater by each other’s madness. Stretch your calves on the windowsill to the succulent “Steamed Hams Inc.” above.
