Laura Jane Grace Talks Politics and Social Media Stress on 'The Therapist'

The Against Me! frontwoman discusses her relationship with the world in a deleted scene

Tonight will see another brand new episode of VICELAND's The Therapist, this week featuring Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace taking the seat opposite Dr. Singh for a session.

Ahead of that, however, here's a deleted scene from the show, which features Laura talking about her relationship to the world as a parent and as an American:

I'm terrified. I like, live in daily terror. I feel like, being in this loop of looking at terrible things that are happening in the world, and then processing them in negative ways of like… just not dealing with them. And realising I feel very out of touch with a way to effect change on a broader way, or to fight against that.

She also admits an over-reliance on social media, and notes the feeling of proximity to the ills of the world that it can bring. Her worries are relatable ones, which makes this even more compelling a watch. See it above.

The Therapist airs Tuesday nights at 1030pm EST on VICELAND.
