Listen to Trey Forever's "Like the Plug" and Begin Your Personal Ascent

We can't all be DJ Khaled, but here's one rapper who just might get there.

Becoming the shit requires work, and Trey Forever knows that. His new single "Like the Plug" is a come-up chronicle that posits a single-minded focus on your goals over everything. "Fell in love a couple times / swear to God it ain't worth it," Trey raps, just after calling himself "DJ Khaled with the keys." The lonely, thudding beat by Beat Boyz Music emphasizes the constant grind.

"My inspiration for 'Like The Plug' came from dealing with being a rising and upcoming singer/songwriter who has been dealing with so many different situations involving my music and the problems the music can bring sometimes," says Trey. "All I can say is a lot of people have come, a lot of people went, and some I had to let go. Over time, as I made some pretty dope accomplishments I had a chance to see people for who they really are, from friends, family, some of the women I have come  across and so on."
