PREMIERE: Take a Trip Through Kinski's Psychedelic Tunnel in "I Fell Like a Fucking Flower"

The Seattle psych-rawk lifers run, literally, with the riffage.

Like their PacWest brothers-in-arms in Mudhoney, Survival Knife (ex-Unwound) and Built to Spill, Seattle institution Kinski are a grizzled and grungy riff-rock powerhouse and bottomless pit of arena-ready, fist-pumping anthemry. Sure, this coed juggernaut pulled a vanishing act recording-wise after 2007’s Down Below Its Chaos, but the wait was worth it in the fret-hopping heroics that arrived in 2013. These rawk-heavy psychhead lifers (they’ve been around since ’98) traded in Sub Pop for Kill Rock Stars and put the pedal to the Stooges-ian freak-out metal on the mostly-instrumental but all godhead guitar shred they called Cozy Moments.

Thankfully, Kinski didn’t bother waiting another six long years to release a fresh, new slab of meaty burners. Just last month, Kinski quickly followed up with 7 (or 8) (the title alluding to what number record they’re on—even they aren’t sure) and, shit yeah, it’s high-wattage wah-wah and noise pedal stomping stoner chug (Just check out the mind-frying song and vid for “Drink Up And Be Somebody” for the Kinski treatment).

Now, we’ve gotten our hands on Kinski’s latest gnarly trip called “I Fell Like a Fucking Flower,” complete with a twisted video to match. We dialed up Kinski to get the scoop and here’s what we got back: "The first video we saw from Carlos Lopez was for the Unnatural Helpers' song 'She Was Your Girlfriend,' which was sufficiently over the top and worked great with the music. He has done several other videos for bands such as Mudhoney, LA Lux, Intelligence and others. With our song 'I Fell Like a Fucking Flower,' Carlos uses this colorful yet claustrophobic tunnel to capture a trippy and frantic feeling of perpetual motion, with dizzying & swirling stuff too. And running. Lots of running!"
