Sometimes the obvious isn't obvious until it smacks you in the face. We've been digging some some "mystery rapper" named Captain Murphy for quite some time. Whoever he was, he was rapping over TNGHT and also original productions that sounded eerily similar to shit being put out by Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder crew. Last night Captain Murphy had a show in L.A., when Flying Lotus popped onstage wearing a gold cape. We should have figured this out since his voice sounds like FlyLo's and his videos seemed to have a bunch of money behind them. But we thought it was either a pitched-up Tyler, The Creator or a pitched-down Earl Sweatshirt because we're really dumb. Anyways, download Captain Murphy/Flying Lotus' Duality mixtape here. It features production from Just Blaze, Madlib, Jeremiah Jae and FlyLo himself. He's kind of an incredible rapper, which should be unsurprising since he's also an incredible producer.
