According to a report from TMZ, Frank Ocean is being sued by his own father for defamation. Calvin Cooksey is seeking $14.5m in damages in response Tumblr post that Ocean posted last year after the Pulse Nightclub shooting.Cooksey is taking issue with a segment of the post in which Ocean wrote about an incident from his childhood. "I was six years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a faggot as he dragged me out a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn't be served because she was dirty," Ocean wrote there. "That was the last afternoon I saw my father and the first time I heard that word, I think, although it wouldn't shock me if it wasn't." Cooksey claims that the incident never took place and that the resulting damage to his name has cost him deals in film and music.It's not the first time that Cooksey has sought millions of dollars in a case involving his son. Just last year, he filed suit against Def Jam founder Russell Simmons after being called a "deadbeat dad" by the mogul. As Ocean mentions in the now-challenged Tumblr post, Cooksey was absent from his son's life from an early age. Cooksey said then that the absence was down to Ocean's "money-grubbing" mother.
