Five Dead, 15 Injured After Shooting at Mexico’s BPM Festival

At a press conference this morning, state officials said three individuals had been detained.

Five people have died and a further fifteen have been injured after a shooting at a closing party for BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

The shooting occurred around 3:30 AM on 12th Street, outside of the Blue Parrot nightclub. According to THUMP, all five fatalities were members of the BPM team.

At a press conference this morning, Quintana Roo State Attorney Miguel Angel Pech Cen said that three people have been detained by police. Unconfirmed reports from local media suggest that the shooting was cartel-related.
