Call of the Void's 'Are You Fucking Kidding Me' Fucking Rules

Stream the brutally pissed new album from these sludgy, grinding hardcore maniacs (out December 16 on Translation Loss).

Call of the Void's new album, Are You Fucking Kidding Me, both sums up my general sentiment about 2016 and shotputs the bar for grind-obsessed metallic hardcore way up into the fucking stratosphere. The Colorado outfit fuses speed, spit, grinding grooves, hardcore chugs, metallic crunch, tone-perfect Swedish crust, and an all-around bad attitude that makes Cursed (whose influence rears its ugly head more than a few times, especially on tracks like "On And On") seem like a bunch of cuddly bunnies.

The entire album is catchy and engaging as hell (honestly, there's no need to get flowery—it's just really fun to listen to) and the title track in particular is what my Noisey colleagues would almost certainly refer to as a "slapper" if any of them appreciated disgustingly groovy death/grind. They don't, but I sure as fuck do, so here we are. On top of that, the band will be giving out the whole kit and caboodle for free on Bandcamp, as a thank you to those who have helped make their 2016 a little less terrible.

"We are offering our album as a free download on Bandcamp because we want to be heard by as many people as possible, regardless of whether or not they can afford to listen to our music. We don't want to worry about money. We want to thank our music communities and help them to thrive."

The album's out December 16 via Translation Loss; stream it below, snag it from Bandcamp, and commence fucking shit up.
