At 20-years-old, Robert Tilden already has already cut his teeth in LA's music scene. He founded local rock darlings Bobby T. and the Slackers at 16, gigging around the city's warehouse and DIY circuit before recording a demo in 2012 that landed him alongside acts like Cherry Glazerr and Girlpool.After overcoming struggles with anxiety and addiction, Tilden re-emerged with a new sound and new moniker, BOYO, in 2015. The new project sees Tilden delving into noise pop, his mercurial croon floating atop lo-fi orchestrations and lilting melodies.Following a debut LP, Control, and EP released last year, Tilden is back with standalone single "Good as Gone," a distorted, hypnotic tune he describes as "a kind of a lullaby for myself, but also a eulogy for a relationship.""I met with my friend Pat who makes videos and we both thought the song sounded like someone driving and ruminating," Tilden says of the track's video. "The recording is warped and weird so we thought the environment around the car should mirror that and all just feel like a dream."BOYO plans to release his second LP later this year on Danger Collective.
