Cypress Hill x Rusko - 'Cypress x Rusko' EP

We can't quite understand why this exists, but are kind of glad to live in a universe in which it does.

Ever since Run DMC told Jason Nevins what it was like, musical scientists have dreamed of fusing rap and dance. This team-up EP is not a particularly "fused" fusion. In fact, it's mainly independent business as usual for both parties; the Hill "came here to get you high," apparently, and the Leeds brostep pioneer keeps his productions tight, clean, and bassy. Throw in Damien Marley guest vox, and you've got an EP that a) sounds like it could be high-quality dubstep remixes of low-quality hip-hop tracks, and b) you can't quite understand why it exists, but remain glad to live in a universe in which it does. It may not make a lot of sense here, but someone will surely crack the dubstep-rap crossover by year's end. TI and Burial? Skrillex and Rick Ross? These are surely the end times. #futureshock
