Christmas May Be Over but the Migos are Keeping Us in the Holiday Spirit

Thanks to memes, dubbed videos, and performance shots, we're entering 2017 on a good note.

Yes, we know, 2016 was a fucked up year. But what year isn't really? Shitty politicians get elected into office worldwide on a regular basis and in case you forgot, about 151,600 people die everyday. Donald Trump's victory has just heightened our urgency to continue counting our losses. But from now on (the last two days of the year), Noisey is taking a proactive stance by counting our wins. And how can you start counting wins without rejoicing in the bliss that Migos' "Bad and Boujee" has given us? Shame on us for not putting that in our Best Songs of the Year list.

Over the past month, new life has been given to "Bad and Boujee" thanks to a few dubbed videos, memes, and performance videos and we challenge you to try not smiling in impenetrable happiness when viewing them. The song is now Migos' highest charting and most streamed single yet, recently reaching the top 10 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. At the top of December, a video was uploaded to YouTube with characters from former PBS children's program, Sid the Science Kid dancing and almost perfectly reciting the song, fully equipped with colorful dreads of today's rising rap stars. Then, a video surfaced of the Migos performing the track to a packed crowd in Lagos, Nigeria with every word being recited. And to top off the holiday season, Pigeons and Planes posted an eerily on-point dub of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Memes inspired by the song also have their own knowyourmeme page. "Bad and Boujee" is a song of the people and the ultimate unifier. We will not have a prosperous 2017 until we comes to terms with this. So for the final hours 2016, bask in the best "Bad and Boujee" media online.
