Bruce Springsteen Once Recorded a Song for the Harry Potter Movies and, Uh, Here It Is

It's no "Darkness on the Edge of Hogwarts"! (It took six of us to come up with that joke.)

DID YOU KNOW: Bruce Springsteen apparently read the first Harry Potter book to his son and was so moved that he felt inclined to write a song for the series? He recorded a track for Sorcerer's Stone that never ended up getting used and just sat in the ol' Springsteen vault.

Hypable has a good account of the story along with the song, "I'll Stand by You Always," from the Bruce Springsteen torrent site, which you can hear below. And while we all love both Springsteen and Harry Potter here at Noisey, we're pretty glad this one stayed in the deathly hallows. It makes us want to do a disappearing spell on our ears. But then again, who among us has not been so moved by the works of Daniel Radcliffe that they went and created a song unworthy of their catalog? Let he who is without this sin cast the first spell!
