A-Trak Announces Finalists for Goldie Awards' DJ and Beat Battle

On September 7, A-Trak is teaming up with TMWRK, Fool's Gold, and Noisey to launch the Goldie Awards 1st Annual DJ & Beat Battle. After sorting through over 300 entries, he's announced the DJs and producers that'll fight it out onstage at Brooklyn Steel in just a couple weeks. Included in the mix, per a press release, are a 13-year-old phenom from New Zealand, analog techno producers, and world champion DJs, among other competitors Japan, Portugal, Germany, and more.

The Goldie Awards were set up to reflect the diversity of approaches in modern music-making. There's no restrictions on the types of equipment you can use—and if the videos the finalists have submitted is any indiction, there could be some truly wild stuff on display. The battles will be judged by a cast of judges including Diplo, Just Blaze, Mannie Fresh, DJ Craze, Mija, Destructo, and the Whooligan. Dave East will host the night.
