St. Vincent Preached to a Choir of Violinists on 'Fallon' with "Slow Disco"

It's the first time she's performed the 'MASSEDUCTION' track on TV.

Nobody has had a busier year than St. Vincent. Between a tireless press campaign to promote the new album MASSEDUCTION, touring, and countless late night performances, lesser humans would have thrown in the towel. But Annie Clark is a true pro, and last night she surfaced on late night TV again, though she brought something a little different from what she's offered recently.

Performing MASSEDUCTION closer (and highlight) "Slow Disco" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, her set was a church, with her string section sitting in the pews—taking the 'cult leader' persona she's played with recently and making it literal. The moment saw her sans guitar—as she has been a few times both on TV and on tour—and dressed in one of the latex outfits that have become her signature over the course of this album cycle.

Like everything Clark does, it's well thought out and dynamic, and given center stage, the purity in her soprano is the highlight here. More charismatic leader St. Vincent in churches (fake or not) for 2018.
