Elton John and Jack White Get Together for “Two Fingers of Whiskey”

The original track is a part of the 'American Epic Sessions,' airing June 6.

The American Epic Sessions, a postscript to Bernard MacMahon's three-part American Epic documentary series, will air on PBS on June 6. The special will showcase the artists who joined T Bone Burnett and Jack White in the studio to record with equipment from the 1920s and the results we've seen so far have been stunning—Alabama Shakes' version of Memphis Minnie's 1940s hit "Killer Diller" and Nas' reinterpretation of the 1928 blues "On the Road Again" have been particular standouts.

This morning, we get to see Elton John collaborate with Jack White on "Two Fingers of Whiskey," an original song with lyrics by longtime Elton John collaboration Bernie Taupin. John is in his element, hammering an old piano and slurring about drowning out the devil with rye; White sits at his left ear, harmonizing and picking out blues flourishes on an overdriven guitar.
