WAV's "Jetski" Is A Delicate Embrace of Success to Come

The New York-based artist's second single is an optimistic look to the future.

A consistent quality of rap's Soundcloud generation is that many of its artists have a knack for making sonically uplifting songs, even when those tracks have lyrics that contradict the production's feel. One of those artists whose just starting to make some traction is Brooklyn-born, Houston-molded, and NYC-based rapper-slash-singer WAV. His name, like many of his peers, perfectly trivializes computer jargon, adding humorous context to the sometimes-modulated voice he sings with in his music.

At the tail end of 2017, he released his first single "Again," a chaotic jam about bringing in money around the clock. The song was produced by famed CashMoneyAP who has been responsible for making beats for artists like Lil Wayne, Chief Keef, Lil Skies, and more. Today, we're premiering WAV's second single "Jetski," which builds onto his love for melody. The track is another collaboration with CashMoneyAP but this time around, WAV spends his time talking about the success that's coming his way and the people who didn't think he'd attain it.
