A Year of Lil Wayne: Happy St. Patrick's Day from New Orleans

Has Lil Wayne ever rapped about St. Patrick's Day? Of course Lil Wayne has rapped about St. Patrick's Day.

Day 178: "Trigger Finger" feat. Soulja Boy – I Am Not a Human Being 2, 2013

Has Lil Wayne ever rapped about St. Patrick's Day? Of course Lil Wayne has rapped about St. Patrick's Day, which is like his home city's celebration of Mardi Gras except for shittier people. You know what makes today way better though? Listening to that reference, which is on Lil Wayne's song "Trigger Finger" with Soulja Boy. Soulja Boy blacks out on his verse—"rest in peace to the game 'cause I killt it"—which is light years ahead of the game. This kind of dumb, matter-of-fact rap fathered the entirety of "cool" music circa 2017.

Meanwhile, Wayne goes off and goes off some more—this might be the tightest rapping on all of IANAHB2. Wow, the more I listen to this and write about it the more hype I'm getting. Maybe St. Patrick's Day is actually good now? Nah, it's just this song, but you can still celebrate. Here's how: "Blow yo fuckin' brains out in traffic nigga / got green, New Orleans, St. Patrick nigga."
