Day 172: "HYFR" feat. Lil Wayne – Drake, Take Care, 2012Today I attended my first bar mitzvah, as the DJ, which is perhaps the greatest honor one can have as a curator of music. To my main (now) man Lucien, congrats. I played the new Frank Ocean song and no Lil Wayne because 13 year olds now do not want, as far as I know, to listen to Lil Wayne, and in front of their parents is not the best place to introduce him to them. I scrolled through Instagram and saw Drake announced a release date for More Life a week from today.Mostly, I thought about this video a bunch, since it's probably the coolest pop culture bar mitzvah. I mean, Lil Wayne is there! Then again, I would guess it's not his first time dancing the hora. How many bar mitzvahs do you think Lil Wayne has played? My guess is more than one but fewer than five.
