A Tribe Called Quest Reunited to Perform "Can I Kick It?" on 'The Tonight Show'

Can they kick it? Yes they can.

Last we heard of seminal hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest they were summoned by Kanye West as openers for the New York City stop of his 2013 Yeezus tour. They're functionally disbanded, and you can see why in Michael Rapaport's 2011 doc Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, which follows the group on a rocky reunion tour. Just the same, Tribe reissued their debut album People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm this week with a crisp remaster and remixes by Pharrell, J. Cole, and Cee-Lo, and to celebrate the occasion, they stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform, dusting off the album's classic Lou Reed sampling single "Can I Kick It?" with the Roots' backing. It was their first television performance since splitting up originally in 1998. Watch below and check out our chat with Phife Dawg about the album right here.
