Kanye West Lends a Witty Verse to CyHi the Prynce's "Dat Side"

The GOOD Music signee links up with his boss for a new single.

It's been a minute since we heard Kanye drop a casual verse. It's felt like some time since the spotlight trained on him focused on music at all, really, so his feature on CyHi the Prynce's "Dat Side" is a veritable treat. Secondarily, it also acts as a reassurance that Ye remains in fine form.

"Dat Side" is a hooky piano track (try getting "All the haters stand on that side / All the suckas stand on that side" out of your head) opened and closed with verses from GOOD Music's CyHi, and big on vocal effects and punchlines. Those verses sandwich the Kanye feature, which goes from pleasantly lethargic to about 30 Red Bulls in a matter of seconds, leading up to the closing lines, which are Kanye having fun like only he can:

Pull the Lambo out and then I went and got it baptised,
Moved into a neighbourhood where I'm the only black guy,
Neighbours said they think I gave the neighbourhood a black eye,
They too worried about what I'm doin' so I gotta keep my grass high.
