Lady Gaga's Super Bowl Halftime Show Was A Perfect Encapsulation of Who She Is

The NYC native didn't disappoint.

Some people were born to do certain things. In the same way that I was born to lie in bed eating pizza and being moved to tears by episodes of The Voice, Lady Gaga was born to play the halftime show at the Super Bowl. Part-rockstar from space, part-theatre brat, Gaga is showy and stagey from her head to her diamanté stiletto-booted feet, and a custom built stage in the middle of an enormous football field with a captive audience at her will is absolutely where she belongs. The 13-minute show opened with her flying in on cords (complete with flips and tumbles, because Gaga did not come to play) and saw her speed through a succession of hits – including "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" – whilst wearing the dopest leotard you're likely to see this side of a Beyoncé tour. Other highlights included Joanne's standout track "Million Reasons," which she performed at a piano, "Born This Way," which many have viewed as a defiant, Trump-targetting statement, and also the part where she played a purple keytar. The show in all was a perfect encapsulation of who Gaga is as an artist, both in her own mind and in her audience's, and also really just an amazing piece of entertainment. Long live Gaga, and also maybe just let her do this every year to be honest.   Watch her performance at the Super Bowl below:
