Beach House's "Chariot" Is Peak Beach House

A band can make great songs but that's only one part of making an impact. The second one is creating an identifiable sonic signature, as Beach House have done for more than a decade. The dream pop soothsayers are taking a well-earned break after releasing two albums in 2014, but we're getting a B-sides compilation this June, and the two have released the first track from it, entitled "Chariot."

The song's a holdover from the Depression Cherry sessions, and it's recognizable as a Beach House song within literal seconds from the organ tone alone. Sure enough, all the elements eventually show up, from Victoria Legrand's glassy vocals to Alex Scally's slide guitar. You know what you're getting into, and it's still pretty great, so listen to "Chariot" below.
