Here's Georgia's Hazy Blue Video For "Heart Wrecking Animals"

This fragile track sits somewhere between Oneohtrix Point Never and pop.

Ever since Georgia stepped out from behind the drumkit, where she kept the likes of Kwes, Kate Tempest, and JUCE playing in rhythm, her career has understandably kicked up a notch and solidified her as an artist in her own right. In the past couple of years, Georgia has released an EP and signed to the formidable independent label Domino, who put out her eponymous debut album last September. Today she releases the video for "Heart Wrecking Animals," directed by Kate Moross, who you'll undoubtedly be aware of from the countless artists she's worked with over the years—Jessie Ware, The XX, and clients who range from Google to small independents. It's a fragile, calming watch.

"Heart Wrecking Animals" was, in some ways, birthed from Oneohtrix Point Never. The story is: Georgia went to an OPN concert, the spacious ambience of his performance hit her right in the feels, and she was inspired to write the song. The result is an undeniably emotive collage which draws from the spaciousness of ambient artists like OPN, and fills the gaps with punctuating, piercing raw edges that speak to a pure, unfiltered form of feeling.

"This song means a lot to me and it seemed that Kate got inside the emotions of the song and her vision for it feels so right. ‘Heart Wrecking Animals’ marked a certain part of my life and helped shape my debut albumm," Georgia told us. "It feels like a good time to share this with you all.”
