Watch Culture Abuse's Drug Snorting, Dick Waving, PBR Guzzling, Seriously NSFW "Perfect Light" Video

Culture Abuse not only have the contagious crushers down pat, they’re good at making videos that won’t bore you to tears.

Rising Cali noise-punks Culture Abuse have the important shit on their to-do list in order. Just take a peek at their telling, priorities-driven bio: “Dudes from San Francisco and Santa Rosa getting drunk and doing drugs, and then also writing riffs and playing shows.” That’s right—for this kind of trashy, kind of trashed five-piece, consuming illegal substances and booze takes precedent over songwriting and gigs.

But listening to Culture Abuse’s forthcoming seven-inch “Spray Paint The Dog,” (F U Black Flag and your “Spray Paint The Walls”) and its insane B-side “Perfect Light,” it’s clear this bunch of DIY horn-dogs have also got their wailing and massively scummy riffs down pat. On The Day Dreams of Nothing, the band’s debut EP, Culture Abuse killed it with sludgy licks reminiscent of Pissed Jeans (naturally, that project has a tune called “Happy Ending”), and now, with the songs on “Spray Paint The Dog,” they’ve tightened the riffage (just a tad) and studied up on METZ-like noise anthemry (fist pump along to the “out of my mind!” chorus of righteous A-side, “Nicotine”).

Culture Abuse not only have the contagious crushers down pat, they’re good at making videos that won’t bore you to tears. You kids will lose your shit over “Perfect Light,” and the video will make your jaws drop as our boys snort, drink, rock, get naked, join some weirdo S&M circus, and do all that crazy and fun shit all videos should have.

"Spray Paint The Dog" is out February 17 on seven-inch and digitally via 6131 Records. Preorders are available at this link right here.
