Here's a Rad Rx Gibbs Remix of Snowbird's "Porcelain"

Ex-Cocteau Twins and Bella Union founder Simon Raymonde teams up with Stephanie Dosen for this new project: Snowbird.

Simon Raymonde! Where've you been? Okay, okay, since Cocateau Twins finished in 1997, we know it's not like you've been sitting on your ass drinking endless cups of tea. You've released solo records, and crucially, you're the man behind Bella Union—a label that's brought us the sonic delights of Beach House, Lift to Experience, Abe Vigoda, and the criminally under-the-radar Sleeping States. And that's just the tip of things.

A couple of years ago there were murmurs that Raymonde was making music with vocalist Stephanie Dosen, and it looks like January is the scheduled drop for their debut full-length, Moon. The original version of "Porcelain" is piano-driven with Dosen's barely enunciated lyrics eschewing anything more defined than a cascade of sweetly somber emotions.

We have to say, we're actually digging Rx Gibbs's rework (below) even more than the original. He throws down a dubby beat, and layers walls and walls of Dosen's airy vocals with washes reverbed guitars. The effect is hypnotic and word is Gibbs has also remixed Snowbird's LP in its entirety, to be released under the name Luna. Keep your ears peeled.
