Do You Like Making Out and Saxophones? Watch "Tension" by Vök

Silly question really.

Recently, Noisey's Editor-in-Chief, Fred Pessaro, sent me this video by trio Vök. He asked, "Do you like it?" I said, "Well it's got a saxophone and people making out, so technically it's right up my alley." To which, he laughed.

Well it's true! I don't know what's not to like about a sweet, Sade-meets-Karin Dreijer Andersson-meets-The-xx-esque R&B slow jam with a bunch of shivery, on-the-brink vocals, a sliver of sax, and lots of cute people getting slippery with one another? (It actually reminds me a bit of Shura's video for "Touch," which I love, love, love!)

Anyway, the skinny on Vök is that last year they won “Músíktilraunir,” which I absolutely don't know how to pronounce, but have been reliably informed is the name of an important Icelandic battle of the bands competiton. Since then they've got their sights set on more than the fishing village from whence they came. Listen to more of their spacy, synth-sexiness here.

Vok's EP, Tension, is out on 10.21 on The Musebox Records.
