PREMIERE: Woo Your Summer Crush with Avid Dancer's Cuffing Season Jam "I Feel It"

We’re feelin’ it.

Photo by Cara Robbins Just when you thought summer had come and gone without giving us a proper sendoff jam, LA’s Avid Dancer just might’ve saved the season with the dreamy groove “I Feel It.”

It’s the first track we’ve heard from ex-Marine and unapologetic romantic Jacob Dillan Summers since he dropped his debut 1st Bath under the Avid Dancer moniker in April. It’s giving us Empire Of The Sun meets Future Islands with a hint of How To Dress Well bedroom eyes.

The new track sheds some of the psychedelic fuzz of 1st Bath to offer up pure, unfettered synthpop that doesn’t try to more than what it is: a love song. It’s sweet, it’s danceable and if the tune sounds simpler than Summers’ past work, he says that’s the point:

"Last summer I was really focused on the idea of stating true and simple things in my songs. I remember sitting down with my guitar, ready to say something honest. I thought about the girl I was dating and how for the first time I truly could feel the love from someone. Undeniably, I could actually feel it. The words 'I feel it' came out immediately when I started playing… When I recorded this song, I wanted to sing as openly and honest as I could since the topic was so personally truthful. It's the most I've ever put myself out there in the studio. I wouldn't keep any vocal take that didn't make me clench my fists when I sang the chorus. I've been excited to release this song since the day I wrote it!"
