Father John Misty, he of the lovelorn voice, folky swagger, and legions of twee devotees, singlehandedly won the unannounced competition to release the cutest fucking thing ever for yesterday's Record Store Day vinyl bonanza. Dude released a limited edition seven-inch with two songs via Sub Pop, one of which was entitled, "I Loved You, Honeybee" and is so sweet it makes my teeth ache.

The B-side, "Never Been A Woman," is also pretty cute in a "dude is bad with women, loves and respects them anyway, sings a ballad about them" kind of way, I guess? But the kicker—the kicker, ladies and gents—is that this one-two punch to the lovegut was released on red, heart-shaped vinyl. It's shaped like a heart, because Father John Misty loves you and wants you to be happy (especially if you show your happiness by buying his records).

Of course, the records themselves are all probably in the hands of heartless Discogs flippers already, but at least we'll always have the music. Remember the good of days of yesterday right here:
