What's so attractive about assholes though really?
Pet peeve: seeing someone awesome with someone who sucks. And don't you see it ALL THE TIME? Just the other day I was having a conversation with a guy friend who was attracted to crazy, like so many are, and I was like, why! How come emotional instability and indecisiveness and being a jerk is seen as thrilling and mysterious? Blargh. It just sounds annoying to me. And honestly, not a lot of fun.
This sounds like what Nashville's The Lonely Biscuits are banging on about on their new song "Pacifica," with lines like "Seems you're attracted to the big bad thunder…" Could it be that the object of their affection is a sucker for bad boys? Turns out no. According to TLB "the lyrics are inspired by Grady's slightly over-protective tendencies when it comes to his sister and the guys she dates"—which must be even more exasperating.
The boys added: "This song, along with the new EP, feels more natural to us. We aren't fighting to mix genres and be different, we're just writing whatever comes to our heads and feels good."
And it does feel good: check that bass groove, this is indie-pop done right.
