PREMIERE: Ride Out Your Mood Swing with Feels on Their New Song "Gwen"

The LA garage rockers share the sad side of their debut seven-inch.

Ask anyone in East LA: punk foursome Feels are a staple of the thriving garage rock scene. However, after two years of playing tantalizing live sets around SoCal, Feels (formerly Raw Geronimo) announced that they are releasing their long-awaited studio album. Fronted by multi-instrumentalist Laena Geronimo and guitarist Shannon Lay, Feels wrangle squealing, off-kilter licks into catchy ups and downs. The song "Gwen," premiering below, shies on the sad side as the lyrics wonder what it takes to "ever truly, truly, truly be happy." That's a loaded question, but the sharp harmonies from Geronimo and Lay mine through the dense wall of sound with a prevailing optimism. The band's first self-titled full length album (produced by Ty Segall) comes out February 26 through Castle Face Records, but "Gwen" appears on the seven-inch pressing of Close My Eyes. Pre-order it here from Los Angeles label Wink and Spit, out officially on February 19.
